A New Year, A Fresh Perspective

“And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭ASV‬‬

In one of my previous blogs I referred to talking care of ourself for the Glory of God. So that we can be used of God, not to look good in clothes, or look good to other people. Not even to like ourself better. If we don’t like ourself for who we are, any loss of weight might help a tinge, but I’m thinking we’ll still have the problem with self acceptance. That’s a subject for another day.

As with anything else, we need to proceed with the proper attitude. I tend to struggle with the balance of being too prideful and being pretty hard on myself. God is still working on me, but it’s better than it use to be. The balance I believe lies in knowing I am Gods child, wonderfully made. In knowing that He knows me better than anybody else, including me. And remembering that without Him I can do nothing! Add to that the realization that everyone else is in the same position. Some people are easier to accept than others, but  Jesus did die for everybody! Who are we to judge, we surely don’t know what makes people tick, what their thoughts are. That brings me to my word of the year 2018, respect. I need to respect others and let God take care of the rest.

If I learn from all the many diets and “non diets” I’ve been active in, I have to say I need to eat to live not live to eat. I’m doing better in this category. (Still need work but better than I use to be.) Also we need to focus on is to excercise for strength, not a beautiful body. Another thing I’ve learned is that it does not come overnight, the best plan takes time and discipline. And it’s worth it!!

I’m not on a certain diet at this time, but to take care with the types and amounts of food I put into my body. I also will do some sort of exercise daily. I don’t know about you but this, three days a week, or every other day, doesn’t work for me. I need to have a daily routine, even if it’s running in place for 10 minutes, or my system falls apart.

I’ll keep you posted on my progress and would appreciate your prayers to keep accountable daily. How about you? If you share your goals or plans with me, I’ll be sure to keep you in prayer. Let’s help each other be accountable and strong spiritually, mentally, and physically so we can be ready and equipped to go when and where God tells us to go!!

On a side note, may I ask your prayers for a breakout at a women’s retreat on January 13, 2018. I will be presenting a breakout on quiet time. I’m very excited and humbled to be used of God.

My prayer requests include:

Keep well while surrounded by sickness everywhere I turn.

That I only share what God wants me too. That I remain sensitive to the women I speak to.

That I will be a tool to be used of our Heavenly Father.

That I will be filled with the Holy Spirit.

That the Salvation of Jesus Christ will be shared with all!
