Happy Independence Day!
“Moses had married a Cushite woman, and Miriam and Aaron criticized him for it. They said, “Has the LORD spoken only through Moses? Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” The LORD heard what they said. (Moses was a humble man, more humble than anyone else on earth.) Suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, “I want the three of you to come out to the Tent of my presence.” They went, and the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud, stood at the entrance of the Tent, and called out, “Aaron! Miriam!” The two of them stepped forward, and the LORD said, “Now hear what I have to say! When there are prophets among you, I reveal myself to them in visions and speak to them in dreams. It is different when I speak with my servant Moses; I have put him in charge of all my people Israel. So I speak to him face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he has even seen my form! How dare you speak against my servant Moses?””

Happy Birthday America!
During my school years we were taught to respect our founding Fathers. We look up to them as men of God, who feared God and built this country on God’s word. Todays generation has whole different picture of these men. And not a very nice picture at that. This generation has been taught the negative ugly human history. They have a suspicious and negative attitude towards our country and those that built it. No wonder America is the way it is today.
Here are some ugly truths…they, our founding fathers were human! Yes, they made mistakes. Yes, they were not perfect. This can be said of each and every one of us.
When I was young and when I first became a Christian, I put priests and pastors on a pedestal. In my eyes at that time, they could do no wrong. When they spoke it was God speaking through them. I trusted all of them because they were men of God. Then, I took a job working with several pastors. My eyes were opened and I was crushed. I saw the true personalities of these men of God, and some were not so godly. I had a huge problem with this and started getting an attitude, being judgmental, and losing my faith in people. I remember one night vividly like it was yesterday, though it was probably about 20 years ago, I was sitting on the floor next to my bed with my bible in my lap, physically crying out to God, how can these men be your men? In fact to be completely honest, I was questioning God for His choices. (Yea right, who am I, I know!) God gently yet boldly answered me clearly that night. He spoke to me, “Child, look at the men I used in the Bible. Look at their faults and how I blessed them and used them for my Honor and Glory! They are ordained by me, (God) and they will answer to me, (God).” He then began to show me in the Bible, Moses, David, Abraham, Jacob, etc. They were murderers, liars, adulterers, and the list goes on. This time in real heart felt prayer, a solid conversation with God comforted me and opened my eyes to the humanness of all, leaders need for prayer, and my own usefulness to God as I am. It changed my attitude towards people, myself, and God’s ordained. Who am I to judge God’s chosen! As the song goes…He is God, I am not!
Happy Birthday 💥 America!
My prayer today is: Lord, open our eyes to your truths. Help us all to give you honor and glory in everything! Show yourself to us! Lead us to your work! May everyone who reads this have a fresh new perspective of your Holiness!
