He Has Us!
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”
John 15:5 NLT

What pure peace we have when we really, truly, fully, give all of ourselves to Christ who died for us!
Do we really know what this peace feels like. In the midst of our daily chaotic lives, do we really get it? Our human nature is to go to Christ when we are in a crisis.
When we go to camp or a revival we have mountain top experiences.
But what about our daily business? What about the chaos as well as the mundane? The routine, get up, get ready, go to work, come home, eat dinner, go to bed, get up and do it all over again? Or maybe the stage in life where the only time alone is on the toilet, and still there’s knocking on the door, pushing notes, books, toys under the door. Rushing the rambunctious crew through a meal and into the car for another appointment or lesson? Where is that glorious peace then? Where is our Heavenly Father then?
He’s still there! Reading God’s Word and keeping in prayer is the key. The key that will keep us in Him. God knows our heart. He sees our inside where others can’t.
A quick prayer as we step out of bed in the morning. Opening up His Word every night and randomly reading a scripture or two before our heads hit the pillow. These moments that may be criticized by the church, religious leaders, and maybe our Christian friends are precious nuggets that keep us going. I can’t say it enough, God knows our heart! He knows if we are being lazy, defiant, hypocritical. He knows our pure intentions, nobody else does! And sometimes we question it ourselves. But keep it up, don’t let others bring you down. Don’t let the frustration and guilt of doing an hour devotion and prayer keep you from letting God have you! I know, I’ve been there. I’ve experienced the guilt and shame. Some of it brought on by others, some brought on by my own expectations, some simply from body language. Remember this…God made us all unique. He made us the way He wants us. He made us to be about His business in His way, not the people around us.
Talk to Jesus any time, any way, any place. Ask Him to help you with your special time with Him! Trust me He will answer that prayer!! He has answered that prayer many times for me. And still is!! Would love to hear details if you’d like to share!
