Smell the Roses

December 4, 2017

“then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” Genesis 2:7

Have you ever thought about how God made us? He made man out of dust. Then to give man life He breathed into the mans nostrils. Then He formed woman from the rib of the man that He made from dust.

If you sit and meditate on these truths a while, it’s amazing what we can learn about God and us. I can go all over the board with this, my mind is going crazy with thoughts and ideas. But, this blog is to be short. And this particular blog is about breathing in and exhaling out.

Take a huge breath through your nose right now. What do you notice?

Depending upon your surroundings it could be pleasant or unpleasant. But again, that’s another blog.

When we breath in we breath in life. Get it? God breathed life into Adam? Without breathing we cease to live. And, not to be technical, partly because I’d have to look up the technical terms, and partly because I don’t want to bore you. When we breath out, the air we breath out changes. We can not survive breathing our own air.

I think it’s fascinating how all the intricate pieces come together to make life. Big Bang theory? Blah! Oh, sorry, another blog.

What I’m rambling about is that when we breathe in life for ourself, we breathe out life for the plants that in turn give back to us. We can not survive if we were by ourself, if we did not give to other life. God made us to give, not to hold on to blessings and stuff. Have you ever tried to hold your breath? It doesn’t work very well.

So smell the roses! And everything else! Take big breaths and breathe life in and share life without. Every one of us who are alive, breathe! It doesn’t matter the status, color, nationality, personality, or religion! We ALL breathe! And we all share in the cycle of life.
