Setting up Prayer Teams #1

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

So? How’d it go? Do you have your Executive Prayer team all lined up? Do you have all of their contracts signed and in your files for your ministry?

It’s okay if you don’t. I’m not there yet either. I did have a team, before I moved across country, but now I need a new team. I’m still working on this. It’s the most important step, next to knowing what God wants you to do.

If you’re having problems, let me know and we can pray about this together. In fact, I’d appreciate your prayers for my Executive Prayer Team.

If you have your Executive Prayer Team in order, then they are ready for their first prayer assignment.

The next step and the first prayer assignment for the Executive Prayer Team is to reach out for a site prayer team. A group of 3 or 4 prayer warriors that they will take prayer seriously. These prayer warriors will be in prayer for you, as the director of you ministry, the Executive Prayer Team, Staff, volunteers, mentors, men-tees and families. They will keep all matters of personal, spiritual, and ministry related prayer requests confidential and constantly lifted to our Heavenly Father. These prayers will be more of a public general type and this team can be put together from volunteers. It’s that still serious and important to pray for who God wants chosen for this task. Prayer is the foundation, bringing every decision and need to God our Father.

Use this next month to pray for your Site Prayer team leads. Then ask who’s on your heart. If possible, this too would be a special request over a coffee, lunch, or even dinner. Ask your chosen prayer partner to take time and pray about it themselves.  Supply them with an outline, website, mission statement, and contract to review. Schedule a follow-up visit to get your answer. Remember, this Site Prayer team is a special and hopefully life long commitment for somebody. Now, I do say life long commitment, but the contracts suggested for use here are only 12 month contracts. Each year would be a great time to meet up and revisit the past year, share suggestions and room for improvement, and make sure the commitment stands as previously expected. On both ends.

I would love to hear about your progress and any prayer needs. Working together gives strength and support.
