Don’t Worry! Be Happy!
SMLXL
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
Philippians 4:6 NLT

I had the privilege to spend a very special day with my daughter-in-law attending an event with Yosemite Lakes Community Church Fearless Women’s Ministry. We attended the Going Beyond Simulcast with Priscilla Shirer. It was a great worship experience as well as growing and reassuring one.
One of the many things I learned is that I’m not capable of doing anything for God on my own. God has blessed me with a ministry, a specific one that I’ve been struggling with for years. I say struggling with, and what I mean is, if I would do this Ministry my way, it would’ve bombed and died years ago. If, (and I do all the time) worry about what others think, I become self conscious and suffer from low self esteem because I’m not accomplishing God’s work in people’s timing. And to be perfectly honest, I’m one of those “people”. So, again, one of the things I learned on this special day, is to rest in the Lord, work on knowing who God is, knowing His voice, and be still and let God. Sound familiar? If you’ve been following my blogs, this common theme will seem repetitive. And it is. We learn from repetitiveness don’t we? This lesson is also a comfort in many other aspects of my life. In fact it’s a relief. As a mom we think we need to save the world, or at the very least, our family. We think we have to have an answer or be able to fix everything. What a relief to know we don’t, we can’t, and we aren’t expected to! As God’s child, we read God’s word, pray, listen and be still and let God. We will know what to do, and when to do it, when it’s God’s timing. And if we follow this, read, pray, listen, be still, we will be prepared to move as the Holy Spirit directs.
So as this verse and that famous song says, “Don’t Worry! Be Happy!”
But seriously, when we keep ourselves immersed in Gods word and in Prayer, we will know His Voice and know what to do and when to do it. Even when it seems like the right time has passed. Even when everyone else thinks all is lost. Even when everyone has forgotten.
