Happy Easter Everyone!!

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We know this world is full of bad, wars, hate, sickness, the list goes on and on. But do we realize that the force around us is more evil than the worst evil we’ve ever witnessed? It’s around all of us all the time, and most of us don’t even realize it. It’s a power that not one of us can fight on our own. Without the blood of Jesus as our protection and the filling of the Holy Spirit, we are doomed. Praise our Holy God!! There’s hope in our Lord!
Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter, what do these days mean? Are they days we celebrate for fun, to get dressed up and decorate for? What is Good Friday and why is it called good? Jesus died, everyone dies. But Jesus was a special man, perfect in every way, He is God in the flesh, and he died an unjust death. But wait, what is Easter? Easter is more than Easter egg hunts and baskets and candy. More than fancy new hats and dresses and shoes. More than beautiful sunrise services. This man, Jesus, rose from the dead! He beat, won, overcame the evil! Why? For us, you and me. God shed His blood for us, fought the fight for us. Because He knew without this we would have no hope, we would be doomed. And do we really get it?

Like these verses say, put on our armor. Our armor is available to us because of Good Friday and Easter. This armor is the strongest, toughest, safest armor of all! The blood of Jesus! The love of our Holy God! His Word! Prayer! And the presence and indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
