Last month I wrote about the scary world we live in. Today, as I write this, marks 34 days we’ve personally been self-quarantined because of the Pandemic. We’ve been more fortunate than most. We live on the same property as our son’s family. My husband is retired, and I already have a work from home job. Besides the constant challenge of finding toilet paper and other paper products, not being able to see the rest of our family, and not being able to worship at our local church, we’ve not had any issues.
But there’s still issues of the what if’s, and the unknown future, and the random cough or ache that haunt our thoughts. The worldwide anxiety is real. The worldwide history changing our existence as we know it, is real, and is happening right in front of our eyes. I’m surprised with the social media and internet capabilities still being available, even more so during this time. I’m impressed that we can still worship and do, worldwide using the internet and connecting with each other. The creativeness of people amazes and inspires me. We have an Awesome God! When we let Him be in control and let Him in our lives, we accomplish so much more than we can imagine. This time has given us time to be closer with loved ones, more quiet time to reflect on who we are, who God wants us to be, what God wants for us. Yes, the anxiety is louder than ever, but so is the chance to go to God with it. When everything else is stripped away, and all we have is God…and God is more than enough.
When we get back to ‘normal’, I hope we, including me, remember to seek God in everything, every day, with every breath. For without Him, we would have no breath!
If you’ve read many of my blogs, you’ve read about the life changing event a few years back that changed my perspective on life and being Gods’ child. How the verse, “To live is Christ, to die is Christ” came alive to me. How this time in my life encouraged me to start this prayer blog, to publish my books, and to start the ministry, JVR Ministries. Yet I still struggle with anxiety, and I have times of not knowing what I should do. I still wonder what my next steps should be. I still wonder if anybody will read these blogs, the books, be involved or interested in the ministry. I wonder, but I know that God’s timing is right, and He is in control. I know that He understands, I don’t. I know that His ways are not mine. I know I must keep moving forward out of obedience and faith.
So right now, today, this year, 2020, during this time, I pray for God’s direction, timing, courage, wisdom, and momentum to move forward to His Will! I will pray for His comfort, peace and presence of the Holy Spirit. I not only pray this for myself, but for each of you reading this and all of His children around the world.
My plan, and I’m praying and resting in the Lord to be sure it’s His plan, is to start some book readings on the JVR Ministries Website. I’m hoping to have some giveaways of signed copies of both “The Story of a Teenage Dyslexic” and the future book, “Forbidden: Mission JVR”.
I’ve also started a daily simple prayer on the JVR…Jesus Victoriously Reigns FB page, Twitter account @HymerDebbie, JVRministries Instagram, and JVR Ministries Pinterest. The prayers are very simple, repetitive, and have a bible verse reference. These prayers are my simple nightly prayers, to share with all who are interested.
