God’s Glory

I’ve been thinking about what to write for this months (July) blog. We just celebrated Independence Day, here in America. With all the news about politics, viruses, freedom, our future, what can I write about that hasn’t already been written? As I skim social media, I see picture and picture of people wearing masks. When I go out to the store, people are wearing masks. This is not a local phenomenon, it’s world wide. Masks. Plain, fancy, decorative, creative, stylish, masks.

But it’s covering our smiles!
The social distancing is keeping us humans from our basic need, touch. We’re being isolated from each other, unable to hug and greet with a simple handshake. We’re unable to see the smiles that encourage and cheer us. The enemy seems like he’s winning. Taking away humans basic need, to be with other humans.

“Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.””
Genesis 2:18 NLT

“For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” – Matthew 18:20

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT

When God made Adam, He said it’s not good for man to be alone. Over and over in the Bible we are told to gather together.

What better plan for the enemy than to keep us “people” from being together. To hide our smiles so they can’t be shared with others. To isolate and torture people by withholding a simple touch, a hug. Haven’t they proven that a newborn baby will not survive if they are not touched and held? How about our elderly being isolated away from their loves ones? How about the sick being isolated from their loves ones? Not to mention keeping our prayer groups, worship groups, disciplining groups from meeting, from encouraging and teaching others. What about the camps, jail ministries? This is world wide, and it’s effecting everyone of us.

Growing up I remember the threats of nuclear wars, world war three, and many other threats. People had bomb shelters in their back yards. Schools had bomb shelters in their basements. We’ve had wars, shootings, terrorist attack’s, fires, storms, earthquakes. Yet, nothing in our life time has been so effective in such a large scale as this virus. Isolated and scared people get angry. Angry people cause havoc. People kept from meeting together and worshiping and disciplining create anxious frightened people with no foundation, no hope.

Why are we surprised our world is spinning out of control?

But we, Gods children, know that God IS in control! And God IS the foundation! God IS our Hope! And God WILL WIN! He has WON!

There’s one thing that can not be taken away!!! Our ability to praise God! We can pray and praise God no matter where we are! In fact the Bible tells us that if nobody praises Him, the rocks will cry out to Him!

“He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”
Luke 19:40

“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”
Isaiah 55:12 ESV

Let us, His Children, use this circumstance, today, our world, our surroundings, to Praise Our Heavenly Father! Let us give Him Praise and ask Him to Use us where we are right now!

If you can create, create smiley masks! Happy masks to help people smile and to encourage people!

If you can write, write letters for the isolated elderly people and those in prisons and hospitals, find a pen pal or two.

If you can sing, use social media to share your music!
Use your imagination!
What is your gift? Use it for the Glory of
God!!

Be safe! Be creative! Be in Prayer!

God is an Awesome God! And He reigns Forever!! He has already won!!

I would love to hear your ideas! How will you share Gods Love and Hope in the world today?
