Happy Mothers Day!
May 13, 2017
“She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.” Proverbs 31: 27-31
This day is set aside to honor mothers everywhere. If you are reading this and are fortunate enough to be able to honor your mother, or have children that will honor you, enjoy! If you are not a mom, or have lost your mom, or maybe your relationship with your mother is not the best, reach out to others in the same situation. A card, letter, social media message, pictures, prayer, call, gift, time, whatever it looks like for you, do it!
I’ve posted some of my favorite mothers day pics with my mom. I have some other favorites of when I was younger, but they are not available digitally at this point in time.
Proverbs 31 is my life chapter. It’s a tall order, but a wonderful goal to look towards. My mentor represented these verses, my husbands mom. She is now resting in Gods Love and Peace! But she is truly missed here on earth. But, her legacy lives on, and I want to be just like that!
I remember when I was first married, before I had any children of my own, how frightened I was to become a mom. I remember crying out to God asking for His help and in tears with fear. (And this was done while I was in the church choir, during church, in front of the congregation. But nobody but God and myself knew was going on in our very private conversation.) I also remember His gentle and comforting response that filled me with the Holy Spirit, with comfort, peace, and confidence that He will provide and give me, us what we needed to raise His children. He blessed us with twin boys, and two more, a boy and a girl. Four children! When I came home from the hospital with the twins, I was so scared and didn’t know what to do. My husbands mom came and stayed with me those first two weeks and taught me so much. God used her in so many ways throughout the years. Since then, our Heavenly Father has blessed us with six grandchildren. Yes, I am a very blessed mommy!! It hasn’t been easy, and I needed so much help, (and still do) but God provided and still is! We serve a AWESOME God!
What special plans do you have for mothers day? Please share! Also, if you need any prayer, want to share your own answers to prayer, or need a mentor please let me know! Enjoy your day!!
