Happy Fathers Day!

“But if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and ubraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5
Happy Fathers Day!
This day is set aside to honor fathers everywhere. If you are reading this and are fortunate enough to be able to honor your father, or have children that will honor you as a father, enjoy! If you are not a dad, or have lost your dad, or maybe your relationship with your father is not the best, reach out to others in the same situation. A card, letter, social media message, pictures, prayer, call, gift, time, whatever it looks like for you, do it!
I’ve posted some pictures in memory of my father who passed away over 20 years ago, of my father in law, and my husband, who is a very special father of my children.
What a better day to Honor our Heavenly Father. I love how Fathers Day is on a Sunday. I enjoy honoring our Heavenly Father in worship.
I want to tell a story of how God blessed me with a Godly Husband and Father:
My husband and I were brought together by God; we both recognized that from the beginning. I was not a Christian at the time of our meeting. Yet I knew God, my Heavenly Father Loved me, blessed me, and kept me.
During our dating time we talked about how scary this world is and how we were afraid to bring children into it. (And that was 38 years ago!) Yet, before we were even married, before I had even accepted Christ as my savior, we felt God wanted us to raise His children.
My husband, even before fatherhood, was a great father!
Prior to our wedding we took pre-marriage counseling. Upon completion and acceptance to marry in the church of our choice, we agreed to raise our children under God. Then soon after we were married we searched for a bible teaching church to raise our children in.
Before we had children, my husband was a wonderful father!
After accepting Christ and baptism, we put down roots in a Bible teaching, believing church to raise our children in.
My husband, the father of our children to be, chose to prepare to be a Godly father, before we even had children.
Then when we had children, he worked hard to provide, helped with the kids, and played with them. He made sure they went to church and had a spiritual upbringing both at church and at home. He got involved with their church activities as well as family. He was and is a major part of their spiritual upbringing as well as their physical.
Before our oldest left for Iraq, he flew to the west coast to spend some time with him.
He spent two weeks on a navy ship, twice, to be with our other two sons.
He took our daughter out on father- daughter dates from a very young age, to include a very dramatic time when she was stood up on Valentine’s Day.
He loves our Heavenly Father, and me!
He’s quite the dad! He stepped out of his comfort zone many times, and still does to this day, because he’s a great father and wants the best for our children, and now grandchildren.
I am honored to call this wonderful father, my husband!
We serve an AWESOME God!
What special stories do you have about a wonderful father in your life? Please share! Enjoy your day!!
