God Our Refuge

June 27, 2017

“Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. [Selah”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:8‬ ‭ASV‬‬http://bible.com/12/psa.62.8.asv

As much as I hate to acknowledge it, I know that trials and tribulations come our way. Sometimes it’s from our own doing, sometimes it’s because of the fallen world around us, no fault of our own, and sometimes it’s to get our attention. No matter what the reason, my prayer is that I will learn and remember to seek Gods refuge, instead of trying to comfort or protect myself, or look to someone or something else to fix it.

I find myself trying to fix, or plan a way to help a situation. While I firmly believe that God made us each unique and able to fix things, work around problems and stumbling blocks, I also realize it’s a fine line. How awesome would our lives be if we used the skills, talents, abilities, and knowledge our Heavenly Father blessed us with to the fullest, along with seeking His direction? If we were to wait on Gods perfect timing, be waiting and alert and move as He leads, wow! Such an easy concept to write and speak, but so difficult to put into practice.

As God is writing this blog through me, I’m blown away by how it’s talking to me personally.  To have a prayer blog subject each week, I go to God for subject ideas. When I start writing the subject of the week, I usually have no idea. Sometimes I’ll get the ideas with a picture, a verse, the devotion of the day, or just by writing in my journal. It amazes me how God works.

My prayer today is that God will speak to you, the reader as you read this, in a way that you need speaking to. That your relationship with Jesus will be strengthened and grow to make you a person He will use to help others.
