Wild Flowers
“Just as you don’t know the path of the wind, or how bones develop in the womb of a pregnant woman, so you don’t know the work of God who makes everything.”
Ecclesiastes 11:5 HCSB
“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!”
Luke 12:27-28
The song, “Free to be me” by Francesca Battistell brings back many memories. Most of them are from the graduation of our youngest several years ago. My husband put together a fantastic video for her graduation open house. That graduation was different than our other three. The first three graduations were taken for granted, we didn’t really appreciate them until our fourth. That senior year of our fourth child was a year of sweat, tears, and prayer…literally. For a sample of what I’m talking about, read my newest book, The story of a Teenage Dyslexic.
This song, “Free to be Me” is a song of hope and encouragement to be all God wants us to be. Encouragement to rest on our Lord and trust Him to do His
work through us. To trust that He can and does use our weakness to show His Glory! To be us as we are, as He made us.
I don’t know about you, but I still struggle with my feelings. We can praise our Heavenly Father that His Love for us does not rely on how we feel!! To help me put this in perspective for myself, I think of being a mom, a wife, a grandma, a daughter, a sibling, and even a friend. If my husband, child, grandchild , parent, friend, or sibling feel like I don’t love them, is it true? Definitely not!! I love them all so much!! And I’d do anything I could for Any of them.
So why would I think my Heavenly Father would do anything less for me?
Our Holy God who made everything?
If we don’t know what to pray let’s pray…Jesus! Jesus! Jesus! Holy! Holy! Holy! Thank you God for loving us! Thank you for being Holy!
Too simple of a prayer?
Have you ever just wanted to be held and be told you were loved?
He knows us better than we know our-self. He made us who we are. Let’s be our-self, let God use us as we are, as He made us. I’m different, I know it! But I’m made by God, and that’s no accident!
Notice the picture of the weed growing through the rocks and dead dried up leaves. Beautiful! It brings me happiness! My favorite flowers are wildflowers. Free spirited and beautiful! God cares for them! God cares for us! God Loves you! As you are! He made you! As you are!
