Independence

Freedom! This scripture spoke to me today. This celebration of Independence Day! Over 200 years ago men sacrificed their lives so America could be a free country. Over 2000 years ago one man, one perfect man gave his life for all of mankind to be free.

This verse is a powerful verse to God’s children. How many of us thought/think we have to keep our freedom by our works? How many of us think we will lose this freedom if we mess up, if we say or do the wrong thing? How many of us judge others with the same mentality?

Guess what? We will mess up! We can not, are not able to live by the law. We have an Awesome God who knows that and loves us the way we are. That’s where the relationship comes in, for without the relationship we are doomed. How do we have that relationship? Communication. Prayer by talking with and listening to the Holy Trinity, Father, Son, Holy Spirit. Getting to know our Father, reading His word, meditating in it, memorizing it.
That is true, real freedom. Let us be thankful we have freedom, in our country and our hearts. Let’s not take advantage of it. Let’s not forget it. Let’s not take it for granted.
