Wild Flowers Worshiping our Holy God

“As he was drawing near—already on the way down the Mount of Olives—the whole multitude of his disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” Luke 19: 37-40

Worship is more than singing songs at church. Worship can be anywhere, anytime, any way. Some say worship is an attitude and some say it’s a frame of mind. Some say it’s emotion gone wild and out of control. I think worship is living, breathing, in the midst of, being filled with the Holy Spirit. I think worship is a very small taste of Heaven. I love to worship in a group as well as alone. So many memories of worship experiences to mention, but I did want to touch on a few. One time, during a young girls camp at Highland Lakes Baptist Camp, there was a group signing a song. I don’t know sign language at all, but watching them sign brought me to a level of worship that my spirit knew what they were saying. So special.
Another time, by myself, on my knees, I fell into a deep worshipping experience that melted all my worries away. Nothing mattered, no stress and no anxiety, just pure joy and peace.
A few weeks ago during a church service worship time, I stopped singing and watched everyone worship. That act in itself was so beautiful. Arms up high, music and singing and everyone swaying back and forth. It reminded me of the wild flowers swaying in the wind. Wild flowers are my favorite flower, and to see them sway in the wind is so beautiful! I like to think that nature is worshiping their creator. Worshiping is a very special blessing. Personally I always want it, but I don’t feel worthy. Sometimes I even feel hypocritical. But, Praise our Heavenly Father we don’t get what we deserve. So many times worship has come unexpectedly when I simply pray, Holy Father! When I stop and look around and let God in. Out of obedience, just putting one foot in front of the other. Simply praying is obedience and the reward is as simple and as complex as being in worship with our Heavenly Father!!
