Repurposed

I’ve always had poor self-esteem. I’ve always felt like an outsider. I’ve always felt that everyone else is better than me in everything. When I do something right and start feeling proud of myself, when I start patting myself on the back, something happens that brings me down. I say the wrong thing, or I do something embarrassing, or a mistake that I made previously shows up. I’m afraid to embrace the positive, in fear that a worse negative will follow. Am I crazy? Does anybody else feel or deal with those feelings?

All my life I thought myself to be ugly, too tall, too skinny, or now days, too fat. I thought my hair was too stringy and my face was funny and so on. When we had our daughter, everyone says she looks like me. Well, how can I possibly say anything negative about that? I mean if I complain about myself or say anything negative about myself, I’m insulting my beautiful daughter. It’s quite a compliment to have people say she looks just like me. I mean she’s beautiful! What better compliment can anybody have than that? And it doesn’t matter if your child looks like you or not, the mere practice of putting our self down influences our children. We are made in the image of God, and when we put our self down we insult God.

A lesson I’ve learned through the years of prayer and reading Gods Word, is to accept myself as God made and human imperfect. What does that mean? God loves us the way we are and uses us where we are. He gave us free will, along with a way back to HIM through the blood of HIS Son Jesus.

Giving everything to God, even our children, spouses, family, everyone and thing, putting God first no matter what, is hard but necessary. If we put anything or anyone before God, we lose. We lose it all.

Back to “nobody”-yes and I AM nobody! Really! I am! But I am repurposed!

Who am I to share this blog or write books or tell anybody anything? Nobody! However, when I am obedient to God, sharing His Name and Truth to the world, then I am telling others about “Somebody”, about the one and only! God, who created everything! He uses us where we are.

We nobody’s are somebody because of the Ultimate Somebody!

I am thankful for all the nobody’s who are obedient to the Ultimate Somebody, God!

God made us, He saves us from ourselves, and He loves us. We are masterpieces, wonderfully made! We are something, in His eyes! But as soon as we take our eyes off of Him and focus on our self or anything else, we are nothing. We are incapable of perfection and God knows that. That’s why He gave us an option to come back to Him. He knows our heart and is always there to hold us, lead us, guide us. But we must let Him and know we are only something because of Him, nothing without Him!

And This is how I know no matter what I think of myself, no matter what others think of me, I am His! I am Somebody!
