Judgment?
“This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.”
We, I, other Christians, most of us, use these verses to judge and stay away from people who indulge in such things. And naturally so, these verses are definitely from God and for our own protection. I don’t think anybody could argue the fact that living in the dark does harm not good. If we are honest with ourselves.
The Word of God says for us not to judge. We need to let our Heavenly Father handle that part. I guess if I dare use a human comparison, think about it this way. You are working with others at a company, any company. You and your coworkers are all on the same level. One of your coworkers keeps breaking the rules and does not do his fair share. Your company is a customer based company being constantly viewed by the public. In order to be sure you don’t give your company a bad name you must treat this coworker with the same positive attitude as the others. You wouldn’t fire or reprimand this co-worker, it’s not your responsibility. The CEO would be the one to make that decision. The problem with the earthly example is that somebody might have to tell the CEO what’s going on. But with God, He sees and knows all! We don’t have to tattle or take matters into our own hands. Our judgement doesn’t help anybody or anything. The enemy loves our judgment. Satan loves our judgment because it messes with our attitude and our witness. Look around our current generation. Ask them why they don’t go to church. Most will say because of hypocrisy.
With this in mind, we need to realize we can not compromise what God teaches us in the Holy Bible. We must stay away from the dark, as these verses say. We must do this so we will not fall. We’re not to point our finger at those in the dark. We’re not to tell those in the dark that we’re better than them. For we could easily stumble and be in the same place. And that happens too many times to count.
Because we have Jesus as our savior we can be spared the darkness. We need to love those around us with an attitude that shows love and care. Love and care enough to pray for them to see Christ as He is, and accept Him as their savior. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill them and us. Remember one of my previous posts, the post in love. We do not fully understand the true and full meaning of love.
We are put on this earth to give God the glory and to praise our Holy God! We are not here to fulfill our own happiness. But by seeking God’s will in prayer constantly, and being about what our Heavenly Father wants; joy, peace and happiness follows.
It’s a personal relationship. Do you have a personal relationship with our Holy, Heavenly Father?
