Either we die or Christ will return, one of those will happen in our lifetime and we must be ready.
The Bible tells us that this world is going to get worse. We see the Bible prophesies unfolding right in front of our eyes. The only way any of us are going to make it through this life is by a faith in God, by letting the Holy Spirit fill us, by resting in His peace.
