Back to the book of Proverbs. The first scripture that God used to speak directly to me, after I accepted His gift of His Son Jesus as my Savior, was Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turns away wrath.”. Only those of you who can relate to memory weakness can relate to this milestone. I’ve read the book of Proverbs in many ways over the past 40 years, from randomly opening the Bible and picking a scripture, to reading a chapter a day, (i.e. Proverbs 7 on February 7), to Bible studies, and reading the Bible through the year, or years.

Proverbs is also a book about Wisdom, which is the opposite of fools.
Proverbs 26:4 says, “Don’t answer a fool according to his foolishness or you’ll be like him yourself.”

Proverbs 26:5 says, “Answer a fool according to his foolishness or he’ll become wise in his own eyes.”
Seems like a contradiction, right? I see it as, no matter what we say or do not say, the fool will be a fool. So, let God handle it.
