Fools
I am reminded that this world is full of fools, and God is still in control. This is a strong statement to make, yet the Bible speaks so much about fools and being foolish. The book of Proverbs is filled with verses about fools, how to handle a fool, and how not to be a fool.
The book of Proverbs has been one of my go to books of the Bible for almost 40 years. There is no surprise that Proverbs 31 is my favorite chapter, which is also my chapter for the ministry God gave me, JVR Ministries. I hesitate to say “my” ministry because it is not mine, it’s Gods. But as I write this blog, God is laying on my heart that it is “MY” ministry because it is the ministry God gave me to be about. I just love how God speaks to us in all the ways He does! It is an honor that God has allowed me to manage His ministry, JVR. If you do not know what I’m talking about, or if you’re interested in the history of JVR, check out the website, jvrministries.com or comment your questions on this blog.
Back to the book of Proverbs. The first scripture that God used to speak directly to me, after I accepted His gift of His Son Jesus as my Savior, was Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turns away wrath.”. To put this into perspective, my memory skills are right next to zilch! Almost 40 years later and I wrote this scripture by memory. Only those of you who can relate to memory weakness can relate to this milestone. I’ve read the book of Proverbs in many ways over the past 40 years, from randomly opening the Bible and picking a scripture, to reading a chapter a day, (i.e. Proverbs 7 on February 7), to Bible studies, and reading the Bible through the year, or years.
There seems to be a lot of “fools” in our world today. So much so it makes us angry. And then we become “fools” responding to them.
Proverbs is also a book about Wisdom, which is the opposite of fools.
Proverbs 26:4 says, “Don’t answer a fool according to his foolishness or you’ll be like him yourself.”
And
Proverbs 26:5 says, “Answer a fool according to his foolishness or he’ll become wise in his own eyes.”
Seems like a contradiction, right? I see it as, no matter what we say or do not say, the fool will be a fool. So, let God handle it.
Romans 9:14 What should we say then? Is there injustice with God? Absolutely not! (HCSB)
“God will judge the righteous and the wicked, since there is a time for every activity and every work.”

““As for you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands the intention of every thought. If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.”
1 Chronicles 28:9 HCSB
