Respect

January 25, 2018

“Servants, be subject to your
masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.”

I Peter 2:18-21

Wanted to touch base on my word choice of 2018 as we end the first month. This word, respect, has actually been a hard word to work with. Love, trust, and faith were easier words. I thought I was a respectful person, but God is challenging me, as He often does. He knows me so much better that I know myself, He knows me down deep into my heart. I hate what He pulls out to clean up, and am so grateful He doesn’t pull it all out at once.

I can’t quite put my finger on It, but I think it has to do with my attitude. I’ll keep you posted on my journey with my 2018 word Respect.

How’s your word of the year coming along?
