Why Pray?

“All that which the Father giveth me shall come unto me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

Throughout my blogs this past year, I have written about, Be still and let God, Be in prayer always, and prayer closets. This blog is possible because of God. I didn’t make any of this stuff up. God’s word, the Holy Bible tells us these things. The Holy Bible is God’s Holy word!

Once, while talking to my mom, she asked me, who do I think I am? So special that God speaks to me? My answer, yes! But than I added, He will do the same for you if you accept him and let Him.

Prayer is not a magic potion, nor does it make me magical. It’s not a good luck charm. Just because I pray a thing doesn’t mean a thing will happen. Just because I don’t pray a thing, doesn’t mean a thing won’t happen. But, we are told to pray and ask!

I do have questions about prayer. My questions are, if I ask, how do I know if it’s God’s will or not? I ask in God’s perfect will, knowing that He may or may not answer me, so why pray at all? Why not just let God do what He does best?

Because, God says to pray! Prayer creates a bond between me and God. Prayer is a powerful tool for me get to know Him, our Heavenly Father!

Prayer strengthens our faith. We ask and listen, not only our faith grows, but a bond between the Holy Awesome God, and little me! How awesome is that? We talk to our loved ones, parents, grandparents, spouses. We don’t always get what we want but, we still ask and we still talk. This builds a strong relationship by talking to each other, communicating with each other.

Prayer? Communicating with God?  Our Heavenly Father communicates with us all the time. Do we listen? Prayer helps us listen.

I hope these blogs help you think about your relationship with God. Each week I pray for God’s subject and His words. He uses my personality to share with you. My prayer today is that you will grow closer to our Heavenly Father in prayer, keep Jesus, His son in your heart, and depend on the Holy Spirit as you go about your daily business. Have a wonderful week!!
