Deep Breath, Intense Prayer…Release! God has this!

“Therefore, I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or argument.” This is the week that everyone has been stressing about, anxious about, dreading, anticipating, hopefully praying about. No matter what happens we must all know that God is in control, no matter what. We, Gods children, must be in prayer! In prayer for our leaders, country, world, families, ourselves, for everything! If we are in prayer with our Holy God, and listen and obey to what He tells us, we need not fear about anything. Yes, it’s a very scary world we’re living in. It’s easy to sink into anxiety, anger, fear…

    Be Proactive not Reactive

“Pray constantly.”1 Thessalonians 5:17 HCSB “But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.”2 Corinthians 12:9 HCSB With the pandemic, riots, political unrest, all the hatred and fear and confusion, we need more than ever before to remember prayer instead of angry words and deeds. Praying is not an easy way out. Praying is not an escape. Praying is the only answer that is strength, healing, and comforting. Prayer is the strongest of all weapons that any Child of God has access…

    Stand Strong Among the Devastation

We are being divided against each other. We need to pray to our almighty God…speak to me! But how can we hear what He tells us to do if we are fighting against each other? “Knowing their thoughts, He told them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and a house divided against itself falls.” Luke 11:17 HCSB “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” Mark 3:24–25 HCSB “Knowing their thoughts, He told them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.”…

    Pray for Each Other

“Now finally, all of you should be like-minded and sympathetic, should love believers, and be compassionate and humble, not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you can inherit a blessing. For the one who wants to love life and to see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit,” 1 Peter 3:8-10 HCSB We really need to love each other. If I may be so bold to say, this is what everyone should want, but unfortunately it’s not. Because love is not what everyone wants, it…

    God’s Glory

I’ve been thinking about what to write for this months (July) blog. We just celebrated Independence Day, here in America. With all the news about politics, viruses, freedom, our future, what can I write about that hasn’t already been written? As I skim social media, I see picture and picture of people wearing masks. When I go out to the store, people are wearing masks. This is not a local phenomenon, it’s world wide. Masks. Plain, fancy, decorative, creative, stylish, masks. But it’s covering our smiles! The social distancing is keeping us humans from our basic need, touch. We’re being isolated from each other, unable to hug and greet with a…

    Be Anxious For Nothing?

About a week ago, as I write this blog, marks the longest I’ve been out of our home in almost 4 months. I spent the day in a waiting room waiting for my husband to come out of surgery. As I sat there in the waiting room, listening to the constant news blasting from the TV screen, I looked around the room and I saw printed paper signs taped onto the backs of the chairs, over half of them. “Do not sit in this chair due to social distancing, “ I watched the receptionist and workers as they swarmed like busy masked bees. The counter where the typical complimentary snacks…

    Today’s World

“but the worries of this age, the seduction of wealth, and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”Mark 4:19 HCSB As we’re all living in this new 2020 way of living, I listen and watch around me. In this age of being forced to immerse into social media and be active in an electronic way of life, I hear voices of fear, anxiety, hopelessness, and despair. I also hear voices of love, encouragement, hope, and promise. These voices that are screaming from our computers, tablets, phones, and televisions are confusing at the best. The news media has lost its respect and trust.…

    Pandemic 2020

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7 HCSB Last month I wrote about the scary world we live in. Today, as I write this, marks 34 days we’ve personally been self-quarantined because of the Pandemic. We’ve been more fortunate than most. We live on the same property as our son’s family. My husband is…

    San Diego March Birthday Trip

San Diego March 2020 A fun memorial trip with our San Diego Grand-kids! And we made the trip just in time, right before the COVID-19 Virus Shut Down in California. We stayed at the Quality Inn Suites by Sea World, a Choice Hotel that we are a member of through the Bluegreen Resort Club. We’ve stayed at this hotel several times throughout the past 5 years. This is our second time staying in the room with bunk beds. We had our Sand Diego grandchildren stay for a night, and they loved the bunk beds last year. This hotel is clean, and the staff are very friendly, however the rooms and…

The Scary World We Live In

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21 KJV I remember years ago, a couple of years after I accepted Christ as my savior, I had a dream. I had a dream that Jesus was coming back to take us, His children, home. In my dream I told God I wasn’t ready yet. I said I had so much I wanted to do. Immediately I woke up in a sweat, terrified more than I had ever been by any nightmare. That was over 35 years ago.Three years ago the car accident that threatened to take my life taught me some valuable lessons. As I…
